UC Berkeley’s Jewish Collective

Support the vibrancy of Jewish life, studies, and culture at Cal!

Together, the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life, the Helen Diller Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies, the Center for Jewish Studies, Berkeley Hillel, and Chabad at UC Berkeley form a rich tapestry that academically enriches, intellectually challenges, and socially supports UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff.

Our collective work creates a culture of belonging for UC Berkeley’s Jewish community and warmly invites campus and public community members of all backgrounds to engage with the diversity and complexity of Jewish experiences.

About the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life

The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life became part of UC Berkeley in 2010, establishing Cal as the only public university in the U.S. with a museum dedicated to Jewish life across time and around the world. Hands-on undergraduate apprenticeships, class visits, exhibitions, and public programs rooted in the museum’s collection make the Magnes a vibrant center of discovery and connection, ensuring that Cal remains an exceptional place for generating new knowledge and perspectives in Jewish studies. Help us unlock $5,000! We need just 30 donors to give to the Magnes Annual Fund today to trigger a generous match from CJAN Board Member Helen Bulwik. Whether it’s $5 or $500, your gift today carries double the impact. Please make a gift today to support this vital work and help us lift up Jewish stories.
