The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life became part of UC Berkeley in 2010, establishing Cal as the only public university in the U.S. with a museum dedicated to Jewish life across time and around the world. Hands-on undergraduate apprenticeships, class visits, exhibitions, and public programs rooted in the museum’s collection make the Magnes a vibrant center of discovery and connection, ensuring that Cal remains an exceptional place for generating new knowledge and perspectives in Jewish studies.
