United Hebrew Benevolent Association constitution and by-laws, 1885.
The United Hebrew Benevolent Association was founded in Helena, Montana, in 1885, to promote Jewish principles of “charity and benevolence,” by helping the sick and needy, by defraying members’ funeral expenses upon request, and by coordinating religious worship and ceremonial occasions, especially following a death.
The collection contains a copy of the association’s constitution and by-laws from 1885 and a list of its members. (Magnes Small Western Collections)
