Jacob Pins Master Woodcuts

Jacob Pins was born in 1917 in Germany. He emigrated to Palestine at the age of 19 and lived on a kibbutz for five years. In 1941 he went to study with Jacob Steinhardt in Jerusalem. Pins was the cofounder in 1949 of the “Jerusalem Artists”group and the “Jerusalem Artists’ House.” He has since been a lecturer at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. In 1962 Jacob Pins went as a special envoy of the Foreign Ministry and the Israel Painters and Sculptors Association to Japan. He is a collector of Far Eastern Art.
